Puppy Selection & Pricing

We have been breeding Parson Russell's for over 20 years, and have well over 50 dogs we have bred or owned that have earned their AKC Championship. The lines we use in our breeding program are well respected and researched English bloodlines. We strive to breed the type of dog that can be an excellent example of the breed, as well as a happy, healthy companion for their family.

The Parson Russell has been a very healthy breed, though as in any breed dogs will have occasional health concerns and we encourage puppy owners to keep in touch with us on any concerns they or their veterinarian may have.  All of our adults are CERF ( Canine Eye Registration Foundation ) tested, and we do additional testing such as BAER for hearing, OFA Patella, and Hip. We will be working over the next few months to make sure that every dog we use for breeding has been CHIC registered. For more about this go to http://www.caninehealthinfo.org  We are happy to give anyone the name of our veterinarian if you would like a personal reference.

All dogs have faults, regardless of breed or type. However, the job of a good breeder is to know what those faults are, and then make careful decisions based on their knowledge of those faults. This is the reason we evaluate every puppy for temperament, and structural quality. Simply said, a pet puppy, is a puppy that we do not feel should be bred from or shown in the conformation ring. Our pet puppies could and are certainly are shown in such areas as Junior Handling, Agility, Obedience, Rally, Earth Dog, Racing, and many have regularly passed the Canine Good Citizen Test—or CGC.

All our puppies when placed in their new homes have had the following:

1) AKC Registration  2) Worming  3) One to Two Vaccinations  4) Structural Evaluation  5) Temperament Test  6) Microchip on request  7) Tails are docked and dew claws removed.

We also give a comprehensive puppy booklet that is over 30 pages of material on the breed, recommendations on vaccinations, house training advice, pedigree, photos of the sire and dam of your puppy, and lots of common sense tips to a successful life with your dog along with resources for shopping, and even coupons for dog food from Purina Pro Plan Selects.

If you are interested in showing your dog we can provide you information on where you can show your dog as well as handling classes and resources for grooming for the show ring.
